Join us in our mission of clean air, healthy lungs and a tobacco-free tomorrow. All of our events have sponsorship and volunteer opportunities. Click on one of the event names below or contact us at (916)444-5900 or e-mail staff@sacbreathe.org for more information.

What does tobacco have to do with glamour and movies? Did you know that more than 1,000 kids start smoking every day because of what they see in movies?

The Hackademy Awards is a Thumbs Up! Thumbs Down! (TUTD) youth advocacy event that educates people - especially youth and young adults - about the impact of tobacco use and smoking in movies and prevents them from picking up a deadly habit.

The award recipients are announced every February at a Hollywood-style red carpet event. Our TUTD youth volunteers arrive in a limousine, walk the red carpet, sign autographs and smile for paparazzi before the awards ceremony. The goal of this event is to counter the positive influences of tobacco in movies.

The Sacramento Region has historically ranked as one of the most polluted metropolitan areas in the country. The good news is that the air in our region is improving thanks to the many businesses, individuals, agencies and organizations that go above and beyond to make the Sacramento Region a better place to live and breathe. At the annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon we recognize and thank Clean Air Champions for their outstanding efforts to clean our air
.

The Emigrant Trails Bike Trek is our biggest fundraiser! Each September (the weekend after Labor day) over 500 riders and volunteers enjoy three days of cycling and two nights of camping to raise money to support our local programs, which help make our region a healthier place to live and breathe.

Our goal is to make your Trek experience memorable. As a "Trekker" you receive full on-road support, catered meals, in-camp entertainment and more! You can travel at your own pace on the route of your choice (multiple routes are designed for all skill levels) through stunning scenery and stop at the themed rest stops along your way to stay refreshed. In camp you can relax with yoga, a massage, snacks or a refreshing beverage from the cantina.
