Breathe California of Sacramento – Emigrant Trails is dedicated to healthy air and preventing lung and other air-pollution related diseases by partnering with youth, advocating public policy, supporting air pollution research, and educating the public.

Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails has been a leader in fighting for clean air, healthy lungs and a tobacco-free future since 1917.

We are the only Sacramento-based organization that spends 100% of every dollar raised locally to support and expand our innovative programs, which improve the health of our residents.

With the continued support and dedication of people like you, we promise to continue making the Sacramento Region a healthier place to live and breathe.

Brown Bag Lunch Lecture: High Speed Rail in California

Please mark your calendars for a very exciting Brown Bag lecture on High Speed Rail in California. The Governor just signed AB 3034 to replace Proposition 1 on the November ballot with Proposition 1A. Importantly from a Sacramento-region perspective, the bill enables the California High Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) to request and the Legislature to appropriate funds for high speed rail corridors outside of San Francisco to Anaheim, including Sacramento-Stockton-Fresno, and Merced-Stockton-Oakland/San Francisco via the Altamont Corridor.

The Brown Bag Lunch Lecture will take place October 7, 2008, from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Cal EPA building.  We are planning for a 3 person panel discussion to include state and local electeds as well as the HSR Authority. More information to follow.
